Marsh Orchid

Approximately 70% of the land occupied by Borth and Ynyslas Golf Club is within a Site of Special Scientific interest. The club works closely with Natural Resources Wales (NRW) to sympathetically manage the course and its surroundings to maintain a habitat for several important plant and animal species. We are currently working with NRW to cut several areas of rough around the course to remove some of the invasive species and promote growth of the natural vegetation, particularly the marsh orchid ( Dactylorhiza species ) (pictured) which is an important species within the SSSI.
