British Golf Collectors Society Visit

The British Golf Collectors Society will once again be starting their "Welsh Weekend" by playing at Borth on 13th April.

The Society was founded in 1987 with the aim of promoting interest in the history and traditions of golf, and collecting items associated with that history. Its activities centre around a full programme of Matches and Competitions at some of the most hostoric Clubs in the Country. The clubs used for many of these events are restricted to Hickories as will be the Match and Welsh Hickory Championship which will be played at Aberdovey over the weekend. The Competition at Borth is open to the use of Hickories, Classic and Modern clubs although most players use pre-1935 hickory- shafted clubs and dress in the manner of that era. The players always enjoy the seaside links at Borth as it was originally designed in the days when all golf clubs had hickory shafts.

Some member of Borth & Ynyslas GC will join the group, which includes 11 players from Sweden, for golf and for the supper and presentation which follows.
